We have an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst. The successful candidate can be based remotely in Alberta, but must be able to travel to client sites, to the PLC facility in Red Deer, and work from home as required. The Position
The Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting Pure Life Carbon’s financial decision-making processes and optimizing the company’s financial performance. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, an in-depth understanding of financial principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The Financial Analyst will have the opportunity to contribute to key financial initiatives, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide valuable insights to drive strategic planning. They are also a proactive and data-driven professional with a passion for financial analysis and is an integral part of PLC’s finance department.
Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to assess the company’s performance, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate in the development and maintenance of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market conditions.
- Reporting: Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and insightful financial reports and presentations for senior management and other stakeholders.
- Data Interpretation: Interpret financial data, economic indicators, and market trends to provide meaningful insights for strategic decision-making.
- Variance Analysis: Monitor and analyze budget vs. actual results, identifying and explaining significant variances and proposing corrective actions.
- Investment Analysis: Evaluate potential investments, capital projects, and acquisitions, providing risk and return assessments.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze cost structures, cost drivers, and cost reduction opportunities to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to support long-term planning and scenario analysis.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, industry standards, and internal financial policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support for various departments and projects.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
